2 Corinthians 6:16–7:1

"As Christians We Have the Responsibility to Present a New Way of Existence Rooted in God’s Love"

Fr. Robert opens this passage from St. Paul’s Second Letter to the Corinthians and illuminates its deeper meaning. He reminds us that St. Paul is not calling believers to separate themselves from unbelievers, but rather to turn away from a mode of existence that is purely transactional—one in which relationships are governed by reciprocity rather than true communion.

Christ calls us beyond the limits of law and prophets into a new way of being—one rooted in the love of God revealed in the Cross.

We live in a world that stands opposed to the way of the Cross. To love the other, to pray for one’s enemies—these are considered folly and scandal in the eyes of the world. Yet we are not called to withdraw from the world, but to enter into it, and with God’s help, transform it from within.

"We are to become the living temple of God in the world so that the entire creation can become the living temple of the living God"—this is the hope and calling of the Christian life.
